“I believe in pink.” ― Audrey Hepburn

I, too, believe in pink.

I also believe in the long, warm days of summer.

I believe in children with grass-stained knees and dirty fingernails and twinkly-eyed grins.

I believe in mixing play-doh colors and hosting impromptu parties.

I believe in chair dancing and singing to loud music while driving in the car.

I believe in fake flowers and real tattoos.

I believe in long naps, short showers, and eating dessert first.

I believe in the therapeutic benefits of laughter, prayer, meditation, and a good long cry, in equal measure depending on the situation.

I believe in kindness, mercy, empathy, and good manners.

I believe in the enduring power of words and hugs and comfortable silences.

I believe in music that makes you dance, music that makes you sing, music that makes you cry, and music that takes you, if for just a few moments, to the other side of things.

I believe in being the first one to say “I love you” and “I’m sorry.”

I believe in the soul-deep good-heartedness of people, despite the fact that we’re all a little bruised, a little scarred, and always healing.

I believe in love that consists of actions and choices, not just feelings and emotions.

I believe in giving more than you get, listening more than you talk, and forgiving more than you need to be forgiven.

I believe in grace and wonder. I believe in miracles.

What do you believe?

  1. Right now, my faith is weak and I don’t believe in much. But I do believe in pressing on, because this too will pass.
